‘TRAC2 really is one of the most amazing charities I have had the pleasure of supporting. Sue and the team work tirelessly to support those who have been so desperately let down time and time again. I am in awe of the work Sue, the staff, volunteers and community carry out and I’ve been able to witness their work first hand a couple of times.
I first found out about TRAC2 via social media but have since developed a closer relationship, exploring how I can help with their work as well as looking into the wider problem. TRAC2 shouldn’t exist – the people they support on a daily basis shouldn’t be left in such desperate situations of need, but such is the reality of inequality and poverty in the U.K. We are lucky TRAC2 exists and that the team work so tirelessly to support others but as the demands on the charity grow it leaves me with concerns about the needs of TRAC2, the people falling between the gaps and how I and others can help to turn the tide.
On my last visit to TRAC2 I joined Sue, Hannah and the team as a volunteer for the day, collecting items of furniture, delivering to those who needed them and helping families access the range of support provided by TRAC2. It gave me a real sense of just how important their work is and led me to better understand how it works, the motivations of the team and where I might support further. Since then, I’ve been pleased to offer the support of my team with writing bids, engaging with politicians and reviewing how the business model can be strengthened.
That work continues in the year ahead and the journey is long, but together we can do more to help those who have nowhere else to turn. A special thanks from me to everyone who has delivered support, given their time or simply donated to TRAC2 – you are an amazing community and long may it continue.’
