Who we are

At TRAC2, we are warriors in the battle against poverty and high street debt that can lead to the heartbreaking breakdown of relationships, the separation of families, and even homelessness. We are dedicated to changing the circumstances that prevent families from fulfilling even the basic necessities of life. As the Joseph Rountree Foundation so aptly put it, poverty means facing impossible decisions about money, waking up every day to insecurity and uncertainty, and even facing discrimination because of financial circumstances.

But we do not back down from this fight. Instead, we stand firm and offer our support to those who need it most. TRAC2 is a beacon of hope, shining brightly for all those in our community who require assistance. Despite the challenges of the past year, we have worked tirelessly to help those who have come through our doors. And the results speak for themselves.

We are proud to announce that we have not only met but exceeded our targets for the year. With limited resources, we have delivered a staggering 46.7 tons of food and household goods to those in need, supporting over 800 households along the way. It is a remarkable achievement, and one that fills us with pride and gratitude.

Our work is far from over, but we will continue to stand strong and offer a helping hand to those in need. We are humbled by the incredible support of our community and remain committed to making a difference for as long as we are needed.

TRAC2 have developed three programmes that has evolved and been shaped by the community it supports. These programmes offer complete wrap-around support for our clients and will help guide them to make positive changes in not just their lives, but the lives of their families and community. Below is a brief snapshot of our support timeline from the moment a participant walks in through our doors until they are ready to move on to the next phase. This could be through independence and no need for further support, or it could be a referral to various agencies, including employability. Examples of our support are highlighted later in the report in our case studies

Our programme ribbon shows a snapshot of the support timeline for our participants.

Our programmes successes are due to our strong network of support. Agencies from across the sector believe in the work that we do and together we are able to support hundreds of people a year. Below we have provided a brief look at our services.

community Outreach

We are a social hub at the heart of the community and provide a safe space for people to access when they are at crisis point. TRAC2 hosts a wide range of third sector agencies, and at any given day of the weekday, members of the public can access our safe space, in the knowledge that they can get the help they need in an environment they feel comfortable in.

Our Crisis Support programme provides tailored and practical aide to individuals and families often in acute crisis. Households who have been rehoused because of an emergency, family breakdown, eviction, domestic violence, previous homelessness, or any other adverse life events, often find themselves without household essentials. Whether it be a bed, sofa, chest of drawers, clothes, kitchen appliances, or the whole package; we will source it so that the household can focus on what is most important; getting back on their feet.

Food poverty is a sad reality many people in our community are faced with; it is a reality we are not content to stand by and do nothing about. For many years now, we have issued food bank vouchers, but with food banks facing unprecedented levels of demand, we have created our own food store to support families who are unable to wait for foodbank referrals.
